The founder of the scandalous betting company will receive moral compensation from several media out
Roman Semiohin won several court cases back in September. His lawsuit was under the article "On Protection of Honor, Dignity, Business Reputation from Mass Media." The man was unhappy with some media linking him to donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What adds scandal to this episode is the fact that the court found no evidence to support these claims and sided with the bookmaker. It also ruled for the companies to pay moral compensation, the amount of which isn't specified.
It's quite an intriguing decision from the court, given that Semiohin had a Ukrainian passport and participated in the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2019.
But the most unsettling part is that Roman is on an international wanted list for illegal online gambling organization and once deceived people in the betting sphere in Russia.
Considering this, it's somewhat unclear how such an individual could win a court case for protecting their business reputation and receive moral compensation.
