More than 5 million dollars are being offered for Messi's shirts

In New York, Sotheby's is hosting an auction featuring an interesting lot of Lionel Messi's game-worn jerseys.

The Action Network reports that one participant has bid $5.2 million for the shirts that Messi wore during the World Cup in Qatar.

The lot includes two shirts Messi wore during the group stage and four others from the Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the victorious final against the French national team.

The auction is set to continue until December 14, and organizers expect the bidding to escalate further by then. At the moment, the total amount, including the buyer's premium, has reached $6.3 million.

This price has already surpassed the value of Kobe Bryant's jersey ($5.8 million) as well as LeBron James' jersey from the seventh game of the 2013 NBA Finals ($3.6 million).
