Max Verstappen is the highest-paid Formula 1 driver

Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver for Red Bull Racing, who has been the Formula 1 world champion for three consecutive seasons, topped the list of the highest-paid drivers.

According to Forbes, he earned $70 million this year, with $45 million of that coming from his salary and the rest from bonuses.

Second on the list is Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, a British driver who earned $55 million. The top three is rounded out by 42-year-old Spanish driver Fernando Alonso, who races for Aston Martin and earned $34 million.

Also in the top five are Mexican driver Sergio Perez ($26 million) and Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc ($19 million). Interestingly, Perez's bonuses exceeded his salary at Red Bull.

Verstappen dominated the 2023 season's individual standings, securing double the points of his Red Bull teammate. Max collected 575 points while Perez accumulated 285.

In the individual standings of the 2023 Formula 1 season, Verstappen secured first place with 575 points. Second place was taken by Mexican driver Sergio Perez with 285 points. Hamilton finished third with 234 points.
