Dubai to build $1.2 billion entertainment island
CSCEC (China State Construction and Engineering Corporation) has awarded a $1.2 billion contract to build an island in Dubai. It is noted that it will have to accommodate hotel and entertainment facilities.
CSCEC was selected as the main contractor for the construction of this complex on an island off the coast of Umm Suqeim. The total area of this island is more than 10 hectares.
The development project states that the island will house hotels, retail, food and beverage and entertainment venues. In addition, a gambling zone could be located on the island if gambling is finally legalized in the UAE.
We add that CSCEC is the largest construction company in the world in terms of revenue, which amounted to about $490 billion for 2022.
