David De Gea could become co-owner of the Spanish club
Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea, currently a free agent, could soon become a co-owner of a Segunda club, as reported by Onda Cero.
According to the outlet, De Gea met with the owner of Segunda side Elche, Pascual Perez, on Monday to discuss the team's prospects. Previously, Perez had expressed an intention to sell a controlling stake in the club.
Capology data reveals that De Gea's salary has exceeded $23 million annually for the last 4 years. Over his 10-year tenure at Manchester United, the goalkeeper earned $156 million.
Elche ascended to Segunda from the third division at the end of the previous season. After 15 rounds, the club currently holds the 11th position in the league standings.
